Wayne Lembke

Wayne L Lembke passed away at his home on January 20, 2020 at age 85. Wayne was born October 14, 1934 at 604 King Street. Wayne was born to Carl and Martha (Lichte) Lembke. He was raised on the family farm 30 miles south, went to school at District 70 (Cottonwood School). Then went to Curtis Agricultural School in 1947, graduating in 1952. He joined the National Guard in 1952 and retired in 1986 after 32 years of service. He went to work at Metal Products in 1952 and sold the business in January 1986. He was a hard worker and expected perfection in all of his jobs.

He married Roberta Egly June 12, 1954 and were married 65 years. Wayne was in Lions Club for 34 years and a Boy Scout Leader and also on the board.

His Survivors include his wife, his daughter Joy Brown of Hyannis, sons Jay and Jed (Rhonda) of Chadron. Brothers Roy (Lee), Bob (Violet) and sister Karen (Jerry) Calkins. Sister in law Ann Lembke Bridgeport, Nebraska. Brother in law Ross Rash of Udall, Kansas.  His grandchildren Dana (Gerard) Brennen of Portland, Oregon. Kyle (Lissa) Brown of Las Vegas, Nevada. Jared (Liz) Lembke of West Valley, Utah. Jeffery Rhoads of Montana. Logan Lembke of Rapid City, South Dakota. Great Grandchildren Malachi Jackson, Alexander Brennen, Isaiah Lembke and Cora Brown. Two more great grandchildren on the way and many nieces and nephews.

He is preceded in death by his father, mother, sister Glendoris, brothers Carl and Myron and sister in law Kay Nona.

Funeral Services for Wayne Lembke will be held on Saturday, January 25, 2020 at Chamberlain Chapel in Chadron, Nebraska at 10:00AM. Burial will follow at Greenwood Cemetery. A reception will be held at the Chadron American Legion after the service. A memorial has been established for the Chadron Public Library.
