Wanda (Hatch) Waterman,92, died September 22, 2015 at her residence in David City, Nebraska. Wanda was born March 23, 1923, in Gordon, Nebraska to Lester and Lillian Hatch. She married Sid Waterman in 1941. To their union three children were born: Michael, Rebecca, and Debra. Wanda dedicated her life to raising her children and working side by side with her husband in his veterinary practice. She had a reputation for hard work, and was known for her independent, friendly, and generous spirit. Wanda, in her earlier years, was active in the Presbyterian Church. She enjoyed bowling, bridge and card games, golf, playing the piano, sewing, and entertaining family and friends. Reading was her favorite pastime, together with cleaning house and finding great bargains. She loved to travel and never missed an opportunity. She delighted in her grandchildren and loving memories abound. Wanda was preceded in death by her husband Sid of 51 years, an infant daughter, her parents, and her brother Wayne. She is survived by her sisters, Fern Thomas and Ruth Johnston. She is also survived by her three children: Michael (Rosemary) Waterman, their children Hilary Waterman and Dr. Dylan Waterman; Rebecca (Bob) Cadwallader, their daughter Laurie Johnson (Matt), and their two daughters Cydnie and Maddi ; Debra (Randy) Stranberg, and their son Brad (Nicole) Stranberg, and their daughter Rylie; and Scott Stranberg. The service will be held at 10 a.m., October 3, 2015, at The First Presbyterian Church in Gordon, Nebraska. Memorial contributions are welcome and may be made to Fisher Center for Alzheimer's Research Foundation.
