Virginia Holsinger

Virginia Adele Holsinger was born to Claude and Blanche Drury on February 26,1930. Being born and raised on a ranch, Adele, as she was called by her family, loved to ride the sandhills on her horse. But like most ranch kids, she was expected to help out by milking the cows, tending the chickens and doing various other chores.

Adele attended both the Gordon grade school and high school. Before graduating, Adele met a handsome ranch hand and, after graduating, she and Derwin were married on September 19, 1948. They made their home in various places, the last of which was in Clinton, Nebraska where they grew fields of corn and potatoes and gardens of fruits and vegetables. Many meals were shared as a family with their 5 children, Mark, Shelley, Matthew, Susan and Mitchell. The benefits of hard work and a simple godly life were lessons passed on to their children, as well as to their 12 grandchildren and 12 great-grandchildren.

Over 60 years ago, Adele began an earnest study of the Bible and was baptized as one of Jehovah’s Witnesses. At nearly 95, she had lost many loved ones, including her handsome ranch hand, but she clung to her faith in God and loyally spoke about her beliefs in His promises until the day she passed away on February 7, 2025.
