Ruth Danner

Ruth Charlotte (Myers) Danner went to be with her Lord and Savior Jesus Christ on October 5th, 2024, with family by her side. Ruth was born December 23rd, 1934, in Omaha, Nebraska to Fred R. and Charlotte Louella (Funkhouser) Myers. She graduated from the High School Class of 1952 in Louisville, Nebraska. She was a beautiful pianist with 17 years of music. Ruth played for the United Methodist Church as well as many other functions in her hometown of Louisville, Nebraska. She accompanied an orchestra and violinist in Salt Lake City, Utah in the 60s. She was employed as a secretary at Boys Town in Omaha, Nebraska prior to attending College in Hastings, Nebraska where she met her husband, to be James H. Danner from Kearney, Nebraska. They were married June 21st, 1953, in her parents’ living room. To this union 4 children were born, Dawn, John, Herb, and Ruel. Ruth retired from custodial work in 1991 at Chadron State College. Ruth loved God and her family especially her grandchildren and was looking forward to meeting her two soon to be born great grandbabies. She was preceded in death by her parents, husband, and brother.

Survivors include her children Dawn (Jess) Wild of Chadron, John (Jenell) Danner of Fort Collins, Co., Herb (Joan) Danner of Yankton, Sd., and Ruel Danner of Chadron, Ne.

7 grandchildren, Traci (Curt) Smith, Will (Kerri) Wild, Charlotte (Isaac) Mills, Waymann (Kasey) Wild, James (Caitlyn) Danner, Eric (Stephanie) Danner, and Rachel (Christopher) Maxwell.

11 great grandchildren, Kellie (Zade) Henry, Weston (Michaela) Smith, Sarah Smith, Cooper Wild, Haylee Wild, Emily Mills, Aliyah Mills, Nevaeh Wild, Kilee Wild, Rylan Wild, Little Jess Wild, and 2 soon to join our family.

4 great, great grandchildren Claire and Ryder Smith, and Newton and Wyatt Henry.
