Ron Jensen

Ronald Dean Jensen was born March 16, 1939, to Carl and Margaret (Taylor) Jensen in Santa Barbara, California. He passed away on October 4, 2024, at the age of 85 in Gordon, Nebraska. The family moved back to Gordon in 1947 where Ron attended grade school and graduated high school.

Ron married Donna Joann (Muck) July 3, 1956. They farmed and ranched north of Gordon in former Shannon County, South Dakota. He was involved in many other businesses, such as a traveling welder salesman, tractor salesman, custom combining, and owned the Covered Wagon Drive In for 50 years.

Ron was a member of the Presbyterian Church, was a master of the Masonic Lodge, and a lifetime member of the Batesland Volunteer Fire Department. Ron enjoyed bowling, cards, cribbage and visiting at happy hour.

He was preceded in death by his grandparents, parents, and son Curtis D. Jensen. He is survived by his loving wife Donna of 68 years, brother Gerald Jensen and wife June, son Kelly R. Jensen and wife Fayanne of Gordon, 7 grandchildren, Kacy (Charles) Munden, Meagan (Daniel) Thompson, Erica Jensen (Jeff), Keshia Jensen (Rocky), Kody Jensen (Sydne), Kyndra (Brett) Smith, Kiana Jensen (Brendan), 5 great grandchildren Lauren and C.J. Munden, Isaiah and Josiah Thompson, Zephyr Jensen, baby Smith on the way, many nieces and nephews and a host of other relatives and friends.

Funeral services will be held Monday October 14, 2024, 10:30 AM at the First Presbyterian Church and burial in the Gordon Cemetery. A memorial has been established for the First Presbyterian Church and donations may be sent to Chamberlain-Pier Funeral Home, PO Box 366, Gordon, NE 69343.
