A "Celebration of Life" for Rick Stetson of Chadron, 67, will be Wednesday December 28, 2016 at 2:00 PM at Chamberlain Chapel. Burial will be at the Crawford City Cemetery in Crawford, Nebraska.
Rick went home to be with his Lord and Savior on December 13, 2016 in Rapid City, South Dakota at Rapid City Regional Hospital.
Rick was born December 30, 1948 to Wanda and Cleo Stetson in Crawford, Nebraska and was the third of six sons.
He graduated from Crawford High School in 1967 and attended Chadron State College. On June 26, 1971 he married Sandi Carnahan. To this union a son, Eric was born.
Rick managed a Lampert Lumber yard and Country General Farm and Ranch. After moving to Chadron he continued to work as a sales associate and retired from Bomgaars in 2015. Shortly after retirement, he suffered with health issues, fighting a courageous battle.
Risk was a sports enthusiast, having participated in football, basketball, track, baseball and golf. Through the years he played league softball, volleyball, basketball, golf and bowling.
The highlight of his later years has been resounding pinochle games with his brothers and numerous card games with friends.
Rick was preceded in death by his parents, grandparents and his mother-in-law Peggy Carnahan.
He is survived by his wife Sandi; Son Eric; siblings, Ken, Dan (Gayle), Bill (Anna) and Brad, all of Chadron and Duane (Jeannine) of Grand Island, Nebraska; many nephews, nieces, and cousins. He is also survived by his father-in-law Jack Carnahan.
