Memorial services for Peggy Lou Shoop will be held at the Hay Springs Cemetery on September 19, 2015 at 10:00 AM with a dinner to follow at Mac's Restaurant in Hay Springs. Peggy Lou Shoop stepped from earth to heaven on September 11, 2015 at Chadron Community Hospital. She was born in Hay Springs, Nebraska on July 23, 1931 to Harold and Ethel (Rush) Bork. She was educated in rural elementary schools near Hay Springs and graduated High School from Hay Springs High School in 1949, and 1 year at Chadron State College. She had one son, Jerry. Peggy was briefly married to Elmer Jay Shoop. Peggy moved to Alliance, Nebraska and worked mostly in cleaning services. She worked for many years at the Drake Hotel and Bowl More Lanes. She loved her family, friends, dogs, and reading. She is survived by her son, Jerry (Mary) Shoop of Bruns Flats, Oklahoma and their four children, Jason of Burns Flats, Oklahoma, Michael (Erin) of Smithville, Ohio, Justin (Jeannie) of Zwolle, Louisiana, and Marta of Bessie, Oklahoma and five grandchildren (Gabriel, Evin, Abby, Kiyah, and Paige) Her sister in law Margaret Bork of Hay Springs, 4 nieces Jean Grant of Arlington, Texas, Susan (Brad) Sauder of Hay Springs, Donna (Richard) McKay of Hay Springs, and Nancy (Greg) Hill of Denver, Colorado and many friends. She was preceded in death by her parents, Harold and Ethel (Rush) Bork, her brother Norman Bork, and her step father Chris Johnson, one infant grandson (Jarod) and her special companion John Fortner. We will all miss her laugh and her smile. Memorials can be made to Chadron Friends of Pets or the Hay Springs Public Library.
