Norma Nydahl

Norma Jean Fish, was born August 18, 1927 and returned to her Heavenly Home on March 10, 2019. Norma was born to Kenneth Loyal Fish and Lillian Irene Cutshall Fish. At age 9, Norma’s mother became ill, so her and her brother Don were raised by their Grandparents Charles and Susan Cutshall.

Norma graduated from Gordon High School in 1946. On January 18, 1947 she married Leslie Leroy Swick in Gordon, NE. They lived in Gordon, where Leroy (Bud) Swick owned and operated Swick Well Drilling. They were blessed with four children, Linda, Sandra, Kevin and Debra. On August 8, 1973 Bud passed away.

Norma married Claude Nydahl in 1974 at Reno, Nevada. They traveled a lot through the years, to Wyoming, Arizona, Colorado, and the biggest trip was to Australia, to visit Lloyd and Roseanne Swick and family. Claude passed away on November 27, 2008.

Norma was a member of the Church of God, member of the Legion Auxiliary and the Bowling Association. Norma was an avid fan of the Pro Bull Riding. She enjoyed going to dances, playing cards, bowling, fishing, listening to country music, singing and yodeling, and planting and tending to her flowers. She loved watching the Nebraska Cornhuskers and the Chicago Cubs.

She was preceded in death by her parents, her husbands Leroy and Claude, her son-in-law Darrel Johnson, her brother Don and sister-in-law Nora.

Left to cherish her memory are her children Linda (Walter) Quillian of Peoria, Arizona, Sandra Johnson of Gordon, Nebraska, Kevin Swick of Lincoln, Nebraska, and Debra Greenfeather of Strong City, Kansas, 11 grandchildren and 18 great grandchildren.

A Celebration of Life was held Saturday March 16, 2018, 10:00 am, at the Church of God in Gordon with burial in the Gordon Cemetery.
