Mary Ellen Hartman Willey was born in Dawes County, NE on December 24th, 1931 to Clarence and Anna (Wohlers) Peck. She spent the early part of her life, with her brother Roy, on the Table in Dawes County. She graduated from Crawford High School in 1949. She furthered her education at a Business College in Rapid City, then worked as a Dental Assistant and at Reptile Gardens in Rapid City, SD. Mary married Jack Hartman in 1952 and together they farmed and ranched near Whitney. For 8 winters they also lived in Colorado where they enjoyed the mountains and snow skiing. In 1976 they moved back to the farm in Whitney full time and soon after bought DISCO Seed in Crawford, NE. Jack and Mary were part of a water ski club that competed and performed in trick skiing. Mary liked to sew, crochet, and play bridge. She also enjoyed animals and especially her most recent beloved Mindy dog. Mary married Jim Willey in 1995. They enjoyed camping and travelling in their fifth-wheel and taking cruises. She remained on the farm until a month before her death. Mary was preceded in death by her parents, Clarence and Anna, and her brother Roy. Her survivors include husband Jim, children Max (Karen) Hartman of Snowflake, AZ; Denise (Rick)Ryerson of Evergreen, CO; and Launa (Brad) Sheriff of Lincoln, NE. Her step-children are J.D. (Alyssa) Willey of Houston, TX; and Kandi (Carson) Davis of Gothenburg. Additionally she had 8 grandchildren; Philip, Holly, Nicole, Jordan, Theresa, Elisha, Brendan, and Lauren. Her step-grandchildren include Jaiden, Jonathan, McKenzie, and Hayden. She also had 4 great-grandchildren; Alisa, Tina, Amber, and Anthony. Mary will be forever loved and missed by her family and friends.�½�½
