Loren Ray Walker, 87 of Harrison, passed away Friday, February 28, 2014 at Heritage Estates in Gering, Nebraska. Loren, the son of Delbert and Ruth Walker, was born on August 24, 1926 in Lusk, Wyoming. Loren grew up in the Lusk area. He graduated from high school in Spearfish, South Dakota. Loren was drafted into the Army in 1945 and returned home in 1946 to ranch with his uncle, Ray Harris, near Lance Creek, Wyoming. He was married to Marjorie Larson in 1948. The two had one son, Dale Walker. They ranched there until 1952 when they moved to a ranch near Harrison. Marjorie passed away in 1990 and Loren later married Elaine Rabe who passed away in 2008. Loren continued to live on the ranch until recently. He was a gifted woodworker who enjoyed making ornate wood projects for family and friends. Fond of nearly anything mechanical, Loren had a passion for restoring older vehicles such as his 1923 Model-T and 1946 Chevrolet pickup that he continued to work on until recently. Loren is survived by his son, Dale; step daughters, Robin Hospodka and husband Ed, Rhonda Hasenhauer and husband John; grandchildren, Dee Walker and wife Twila, Doug Walker and wife Amy; step grandchildren Ryan Heckert and wife Jill, Nick Hasenhauer, Neil Hasenhauer and wife Olivia; great grandchildren Aston Walker and Emily Walker; step great grandchildren Jordan Heckert, Blake Heckert, Lillian Hasenhauer and Damian Hasenhauer.
