Leonard Lissolo

Leonard F. Lissolo, 84, of Gordon, Nebraska, passed away peacefully Thursday morning on November 22, 2018, at Gordon Countryside Care.

He was born January 4, 1934 in Weldona, Colorado, to Fred and Lorena (Hartley) Lissolo. He grew up with his four brothers and two sisters, working on the family farm. He graduated from Weldon Valley High School in 1952 and in 1953 he joined the Marine Corp and was shipped to Korea and served honorably. After the service he worked for Martin Marietta and General Electric before taking up farming again in Colorado. In the late 70s he moved to Gordon with his wife Stevie where after several jobs he finally settled on his pivot repair business.

He loved bowling and would travel around Nebraska and the surrounding area to all of the tournaments with his best friend Butch Divan.

Dad’s pride was his yard, even after his stroke he kept it looking beautiful.

Survivors include his daughters; Cathy (John) Geist of Fort Morgan, CO, Janet (Mark) Tomasello of Omaha, NE, Patty (Bret) Daniels of Wellington, CO and Susan Wilson of Concordia, KS and “adopted” daughter Pat (Dave) Bone of Keenesburg, CO. Grandchildren and great-grandchildren are Mike Cole and wife Lisa & children Matthew & McKayla of Keenesburg, CO, Erin Dean & children Reagan & Ryleigh of Omaha, NE, Kelly Dean of Glasgow, MT, Trevor Daniels and wife Ashley of Wellington, CO, Kyra Daniels of Wellington, CO, and Gayle Mahin and husband Caleb & children Drake & Hazel of Formosa, KS. Sister Louise (Ralph) Stepp, brothers; Leland (Janet) Lissolo and Rodger (Judy) Lissolo, many nieces, nephews, great nieces and nephews and many good friends.

He was preceded in death by his wife Stevie Lissolo, brothers Lawrence Lissolo and Lester Lissolo, a sister Louella Venard, grandson Kevin Dean and his mother and father.

Inurnment will take place at Omaha National Cemetery at a later date.
