Lambert Belina

Lambert (Rusty) Richard Belina,Jr. 75, of Hay Springs, passed away Tuesday, Oct. 11, at Pioneer Manor nursing home.
He was born April 29, 1941 in rural Clarkson, NE to Lambert and Agnes (Sindelar) Belina. He grew up in eastern Nebraska and graduated from O'Neill St. Mary's High School. He earned his teaching degree from Chadron State College.
He married Delilah Lloyd June 8, 1968. He taught in Hemingford, Sargent and the bulk of his career in Hay Springs. His life long interest was sports, coaching, competing and as a spectator. He became a marathon runner at the age of 58 and embraced it with a passion.
Those remaining to mourn his passing are his wife, Delilah; son Russell and his wife Samantha and their children Raleigh and Dominic, Ft.Bragg, NC; daughter Carmalee and her daughter Alaina, Chicago, IL; brother Raymond and his wife Connie, Norfolk, NE; brother-in-law Dennis, Wayne, NE; and 7 nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by both of his parents and his sister, Dorothy.
A Rosary will be held at 7 pm on Friday, Oct. 14 at St. Columbkille Catholic Church in Hay Springs. The funeral mass will be Saturday at 10 am with Father Joseph officiating. Burial will be at the Hay Springs Catholic Cemetery.
The family suggests memorials be given to the Lister-Sage Center, Hay Springs High School.
