Rosalind “Karleen” Moore passed suddenly on March 29, 2023 at the Hemingford Community Care Center. Karleen was born on April 1st, 1943, in Albany, Oregon, to Alfred “Pard” and Mabel (King) Partridge. When Karleen was born, Pard was overseas serving in WWII and thought this was an April Fools prank. Maybe this is why Karleen always had such a great sense of humor.
Karleen attended school in Harrison, Nebraska, and graduated as Valedictorian of the Sioux County High class of 1961. Having a love of numbers and organization, she attended business school in Rapid City, SD. Later she used these skills to help her husband Michael (Bill) Didier establish and manage an American Standard Station in Harrison, Ne. To this union, three children were born, Michele (Don) Nolan, Andrea Didier, and Justin Didier. Karleen married Dean Moore in 1982 and they continued to reside in Harrison. With this union, Karleen gained 4 bonus children: Jim (Judi) Moore, Laurie (Marshall) Ruddle, Tammy (Joe) Brignac, and John (Jennifer) Moore.
In the 1970’s, Karleen began work at the Harrison Grade School where she wore many hats, some of these included: Secretary /Bookkeeper, Librarian, and Special Education Para. She loved the students like her own and only saw the positive in each child. After over 35 years at Harrison Grade school, Karleen retired. Karleen continued to use her bookkeeping skills when she and Dean purchased her father's ditch excavating service and ran it after they both were in “retirement”.
Karleen loved to socialize. She spent hours on the phone if no one else was around and was meeting new friends even at the grocery store. She enjoyed cooking so it was not uncommon when you were going to be a guest at her house, she would have a feast prepared for you. Another gift she had was making animals of all kinds welcome in her home and yard. Some of her favorites were: dogs, calves, bum lambs, rabbits, pigs, ducks, chickens, and even a raccoon.
Gardening was a love of Karleen’s also and she would have Dean transfer bulbs, clippings, and seeds to nurture a beautiful flower, tree, or vegetable as she loved to care for it.
Karleen is survived by her husband Dean, her 3 children, her 4 bonus children, 21 grandchildren, and 24 great grandchildren. Another great granddaughter will be joining the family in September.
Karleen was preceded in death by her parents and a granddaughter, Payton Karleen Didier.
