Judy Bolek

Judith (Judy) Colleen Bolek, age 75, of Rushville, Nebraska, peacefully passed away at home surrounded by her family on April 23, 2018 after battling cancer.

The graveside service will be held at 2:00 PM on Friday, April 27, 2018 at Fairview Cemetery in Rushville, Nebraska. Reverend Alvin Trucano will be officiating. Funeral arrangements are being handled by Chamberlain-Pier Funeral Home.

Judy was born in Chadron, Nebraska on September 12, 1942 to Jim and Buzz Dobry. She graduated from Rushville High School in 1960 and attended Chadron State College for one year.

Judy married Edward Bolek on October 22, 1961; they were married 56 years.

Judy and Edward settled, farmed, and raised their family 2 miles east of Rushville. Judy devoted her life to her husband, Edward, her daughters, Temple, Shauna, and Jama, her parents, Jim and Buzz Dobry and her grandchildren, Kent Janicke, Bailey Swanson, Teale Olson, Brookley Garman and Trace Beguin. She was known for her kindness and generosity to anyone who had the privilege of knowing her. She loved the time she spent in her flower beds and garden. Judy enjoyed playing bridge, bowling with her close-knit group of friends and caring for her beloved cats.

Judy is survived by her husband, Edward Bolek, her daughters, Temple (Patrick) Estrada of Rapid City, South Dakota, Shauna Beguin of Rushville and Jama Bolek of Rushville, her grandchildren Kent (Jamie) Janicke of Fort Collins, CO, Bailey (Loran) Swanson of Hemingford, NE, Teale (Ty) Olson of Chadron, NE, Brookley Garman of Rapid City, SD, Trace Beguin of Rushville and her adored great-grandchildren; Kayleigh Loftus, Tatum, Tarryn, Taylor and Cleo Swanson, and Tegan Straub.

Judy is preceded in death by her parents Jim and Buzz Dobry and her father-in-law and mother-in-law Ed and Fern Bolek.

A memorial has been established for the C.A.R.E. group and donations can be sent to Chamberlain-Pier Funeral Home at 101 Main Street, P.O. Box 366 Gordon, NE 69343.
