Joseph Cotterall Carr III 43, of Gordon, Nebraska passed away Saturday October 7th, in route to the Scottsbluff hospital. He was born April 9, 1974 in Wheeling, WV to Joseph Carr II (Janet Carr) and Priscilla Brautigam (Henry Wiley).

As a young man, he lived with his family in Ohio. He was educated in the local schools graduating from River High School. He later graduated from a Technical school as a Diesel Mechanic, and from welding school. He entered the Army Reserves and after a few years was discharged.

On August 2, 1997 he was married to Linnea Mayers in Chesapeake, VA. The couple lived in Virginia and after several moves, they moved to Gordon, NE where Joe worked as a Diesel mechanic. He had been a member of the local American Legion Motorcycle Riders. He enjoyed wood-working, hunting, riding his Harley and being with his wife, and kids.

He is survived by his wife Linnea Mayers of Gordon, Nebraska; two sons, Joseph C. Carr IV of Gordon, NE but currently stationed in San Diego, Harley Carr of Gordon, and one daughter Leora Carr also of Gordon. His Father Joseph C. Carr II and Janet Carr, of Morgantown, WV. His mother was Priscilla Ward and Henry Wiley of Clarington, Ohio. Two sisters, Mindy Smith of Clarington, Ohio, and Misty Potts of Clarington, Ohio and one brother Aaron Carr of Morgantown, WV.

A Memorial Service will be at 1:00 pm, Saturday October 14, 2017 with Pastor Jason Gantz officiating at the Chamberlain-Pier Funeral Home, Gordon NE. A lunch will follow after at the American Legion in Gordon, NE. The family requests memorials be sent to First National Bank, PO Box 290, Gordon, NE 69343, in lieu of flowers to help with medical expenses.
