Helen Kennedy

Helen Cleone Clay Kennedy, 80, of Martin, SD, died Wednesday February 17, 2016, at Bennett County Hospital. She was born September 13, 1935, in Canton, SD, to Cecil and Hazel Clay. She graduated from Beresford High School and then from Nettleton College in Sioux Falls. Helen married W.L. Kennedy on November 26, 1955, in Beresford, SD. She worked and retired from the ASCS office. Helen is survived by her husband William (William died the next day, February 18, 2016), her children; Jennifer (Brian) Thoreson of Columbia, IL, Greg (Kathy) Kennedy of Bennett, CO, Jolene (Scott) Robinson of Martin, SD, Janelle (Lyle, who is deceased) Haynes of Martin, SD, Jillian (Kyle) Turnwall of Castle Pines, CO and Kyle Kennedy of Anchorage, AK, 17 grandchildren, 11 great-grandchildren, and brothers Richard, Cecil "Bud" and George. Funeral services for Helen and her husband William Kennedy were held Monday February 22, 2016, 10:00 AM, at Our Saviors Lutheran Church, in Longvalley, SD. Burial was held in the Longvalley Cemetery. Memorials may be made to Our Saviors Lutheran Church or to CHART and donations may be sent in care of Bennet County Funeral Service, PO Box 65, Martin, SD 57551.
