Harold Burdett Kindig was born May 9, 1935 to Kenneth and Marie (Larsen) Kindig in Chadron, Nebraska. He passed away April 1, 2016 at his home.
He attended school here and graduated from Chadron Prep in 1953. He joined the army and served in Korea and Germany. He returned to Chadron in 1962 and worked at the college and took art classes off and on. He then went to work for his father in the painting business. He and his father ran a paint store for a short time.
In 1968 he married LeArdis Post and they had four daughters. They later divorced. After the death of his parents he did odd jobs. He was in the National Guard until retirement.
He is survived by his four daughters and six grandchildren that live in Oregon, his sister and brother-in-law Karen and Harold Schlais, 3 nieces, 3 nephews, and seven cousins.
He is preceded in death by his parents, a sister Sylvia and husband George Kohler and his brother Paul.
