Gregory William Butler passed away November 17 at the age of 63, at his home in Chadron, Nebraska. A small family service was held on November 19, 2015. He was born on June 10, 1952 in Detroit, Michigan and later grew up in Mentor, Ohio. Greg graduated from Hocking College in Ohio with a degree in Forestry. He took a summer job with the Forest Service in the Panhandle of Nebraska in 1977, although on his trip out here he doubted there was a forest. He fell in love with the area and never left. He worked several construction jobs throughout his life and recently retired from Chadron State College after 26 years. He left his mark on his family, friends, and community with his carpentry skills and knowledge. He loved the outdoors through hunting, fishing, and camping. He married Julie Thies on October 15, 1994. One of their greatest accomplishments was building their own home in Rural Chadron. His survivors include his wife Julie; Daughter Jill (Sean) Craig and three grand daughters Piper, Paiton, and Parker; Sisters Amy (Tony) Dapore, Ann (Joel) Sansone, also the Thies family Imogene, Jeff & Teresa, Doug & Sandy, Tony & Nyla and Jay & Mary. There are also numerous nieces, nephews, great nieces and nephews. Along with great friends and hunting buddies. The family would like to acknowledge the kindess and support of Pastor Russ Seger and Home Health and Hospice services.�½�½
