Evan Basse

Graveside services for Evan Eudell Basse, age 81, of Crawford, NE will be at 4:00 PM on Saturday, October 29, 2016 at the Crawford City Cemetery with Pastor Mark Magnusson officiating.



Evan passed away on March 25, 2016 at Crestview Care Center in Chadron, NE. He was born on July 17, 1934 near Hemingford, NE to Herman and Elizabeth Basse. He graduated from Hemingford High School and went on to serve in the U.S. Air Force. One of the highlights of his service was his time spent in England, which included a visit to Buckingham Palace and an opportunity to meet the queen.



After retirement, Evan moved back to Crawford to care for his mother. He worked as a greeter at the Chadron Walmart for several years before his back made it too painful to continue. Evan, who attended the Crawford Seventh-day Adventist Church, is greatly missed by his church family and other friends he had throughout the community.



Survivors include several cousins, nieces, and nephews and many friends.



Evan will be remembered as an intelligent, witty, and sometimes cantankerous gentleman who knew the Lord as his personal Savior and Friend and sought to help others know Him as well. He is now peacefully awaiting Resurrection Morning!
