Eval Roberts

Graveside Services for Eval Roberts of Chadron, Nebraska will be held Wednesday, July 7, 2021 at 10:00 AM at the Hay Springs City Cemetery.

Eval May (Orr) Roberts passed away on June 29, 2021 at Crestview Care Center in Chadron, Nebraska. Eval was born on January 11, 1928 in Alliance, Nebraska to Mark and Anne (Serbousek) Orr. She grew up on the family ranch south of Rushville, Nebraska and attended the local rural school. She graduated from Hay Springs High in 1948 and attended Chadron State College for one semester when she received a temporary teaching certificate and finished out the school year at a rural Whitney School.

Eval married Richard Roberts in 1948. They lived in Rushville for a while, then moved to Hay Springs, where daughters Patricia and Carol were born. The family moved to Dickinson, North Dakota, where Richard was employed as an Air Traffic Specialist. Their son, Todd, was born in Dickinson. After livening in Dickinson for 23 years, Richard was transferred to the Chadron Flight Service station and they retired in Chadron in 1986.

Eval was preceded in death by her husband Richard; parents Mark and Anna Orr; and Brother Frank Orr. She is survived by daughter Patricia (Vern) Hook, Carol (Mike) Guttu; Son Todd, and five grandchildren.

A memorial has been established the First Congregational Co-Pay Ministry and donations may be sent in care of Chamberlain Chapel, PO BOX 970, CHADRON, NE 69337.
