A funeral mass for Ed Hale will be held on Tuesday, December 22, 2020 at 10:00 AM at the St. Patrick’s Catholic Church in Chadron, Nebraska with Father Todd Philipsen officiating. Burial will follow at the Calvary Cemetery. A vigil will be held on Monday, December 21, 2020 at 7:00PM at the St. Patrick’s Catholic Church in Chadron, Nebraska.
Ed was born on March 30, 1946 in Rushville, Nebraska, to Clifton S. and Grace Irene (Alcorn) Hale and passed away on December 17th, 2020 at Pioneer Manor Nursing Home in Hay Springs, Nebraska at the age of 74. He graduated from Hay Springs Highschool in 1964. Ed married Kathryn Unverzagt and they had one daughter and threes sons and later adopted a daughter. He worked for several power utility companies in Nebraska and Wyoming as a journeyman/lineman until he retired in 2001. In 1981 he married Gloria Peters and they had one son and celebrated 39 years of marriage in July. Ed enjoyed being with family and was a competitive golfer and bowler. He looked forward to the National Bowling tournaments each year. Ed liked music and singing. He enjoyed being in the choir at St. James Church in Douglas, Wyoming. He had a sense of humor and liked to joke around and tease grandkids.
In addition to his parents, Ed was preceded in death by his daughters, Lori Lynn Hale and Beth Wincelowicz, his sister and brother-in-law Rossanne and Roland Schilz, and his brother Jerry.
He is survived by his wife Gloria and four sons, Bryan (Laura) of Cheyenne, Wyoming, Cory (Stefanee) of Tenino, Washington, Brett (Melody) of Tenino, Washington, and Nathan (Heather) of Douglas, Wyoming. Nine grandchildren and eight great grandchildren; numerous nieces and nephews and extended family members.
Memorials in his honor can be made to St. Patrick’s Catholic Church, Pioneer Manor, or a charity of your choice. Donations can be sent to Chamberlain Drabbels Mortuary, Po Box 443, Hay Springs, NE 69347.
