Deane Allen Jensen, 82, of Hay Springs, Nebraska, died Friday, October 26, 2018 at High Plains Alzheimer’s special care Center in Lincoln Nebraska. A luncheon for family and friends will begin at 1 PM followed by the funeral service at 3 PM on Saturday, November 3, 2018 at the Hay Springs United Methodist Church. Pastor Paul Smith will be officiating. Interment will follow at the Mirage Flats Community Cemetery. Memorial contributions may be made in Deane’s name to the Hay Springs United Methodist Church or to Bright Focus Foundation, Alzheimer’s disease research. 22512 Gateway Center Drive Clarksburg, MD 20871, 800-437-2423.

Deane was born on August 12, 1936 and his grandmother’s home in Hay Springs, NE to Einer and Dolores Jensen. He grew up on a farm south of Hay Springs and graduated from Hay Springs high school in 1954. He married Sue Thies on June 27, 1955. During his marriage to Sue, one son, Doyle, was born. Sadly, Sue was killed in a car accident. On June 28, 1960, Dean married Deann Trupp. To this marriage union four children were born Vicki, Jody, Corby, and Dina. Deane and Dann raised their five children on a farm/ranch 15 miles south of Hay Springs for 35 years. Didn’t sense of humor, jokes, pranks, and playing cards route many hours of love and laughter to his family and friends.

Survivors include his wife, Deann; sister, Virginia Johnson of Hay Springs; brother and sister-in-law, Tom and Mary Fortune (Care Creek, Az); 5 children- Doyle Jensen (Tulsa, OK), Vicki Parker (Hay Springs, NE), Jody Grantham/John (Chadron, NE); Corby Jensen/Gina (Denton, NE); and Dina Heise/Dean (Osborne, KS); 12 grandchildren; 14 great grandchildren; and numerous cousins and friends.
