David Perry Jones was born to Meredith (Betson) Jones in Crawford Nebraska on April 22d, 1969. David entered the arms of his Savior on December 24th, 2023.
David's beginnings were rougher than most, but he had great teachers and helpers along the way. They taught him to believe in himself, and as a result, he started talking! He always took time to talk and make friends with anyone and everyone he met. He greeted his friends with a smile and a hello. Thank you to those who influenced him in the beginning!
David was schooled in Crawford for a time and spent 1988 at school in Scottsbluff. He always talked about when he was on the road selling produce for about 16 years. He spoke of this job fondly but said it was hard work! David also enjoyed making tie-dyed items for sale, or for gifting. He would go to Berea and buy potatoes to resell at Thanksgiving which was a blessing to many. David was instrumental in helping his mother Meredith and did the shopping for her as it got harder for her to get around. He was always willing to help with anything he could.
David was very active on Facebook he had many longtime friends and that is how he kept in contact with many! They shared many memories but what was most extraordinary was their positive comments on the person David was! "David was a special, sweet, caring, and selfless soul. He was full of love and concern for all. David blessed so many lives even when he was joking around." These are just a few of the responses upon hearing of his death. Thank you for caring and loving David!
The Crawford Community lost a friend who has been honored more in death than he ever received in life. Yet somehow that doesn't matter because David had a strong faith, and we know that God will honor him now! He has been a gift to Crawford for 54 years and deserved better than what life handed out to him, but it never stopped him from being a good/kind man.
To say that he will be missed is an understatement! David, we will miss you!
David is survived by his mother Meredith (Betson) Jones, an older sister, a daughter, and two grandchildren.
