Dan Rhembrandt

Funeral services for Dan D. Rhembrandt will be held Saturday December 28, 2024. Dan passed away on December 21, 2024, at Monument Health in Rapid City, SD.

Dan was born in Albuquerque, NM. on April 7, 1957, to Carl Rhembrandt and Sylva Haines (Rhembrandt). On July 30, 1982, he married his wife Betty Vrbka (Rhembrandt). With this marriage, Dan gained two stepchildren, Casey Kearns and Stacy Kearns (Hourt), a son Jack Rhembrandt and a son Robby Rhembrandt.

Dan worked for the City of Chadron, the SWANN landfill, and later started his own business as Rhembrandt Construction. During this time, he was an active member of the Dawes County Fair Board. He is known for his excellent work in repairing roads and constructing building pads. Dan would have a joke for anyone he would come across during the day whether you were prepared for it or not.

Dan is survived by his wife Betty Rhembrandt of Chadron, NE. his bothers Duane (Brenda) Rhembrandt and David Rhembrandt of Chadron, NE. his son Jack (Kelli) Rhembrandt of Chadron, NE. son Robby (Vanessa) Rhembrandt of Gering, NE. daughter Stacy (Craig) Hourt of Casper, WY. and son Casey Kearns of Chadron, NE. as well as his grandkids Blake Rhembrandt, Tameron (Kelli) Sayaloune, Dillan Sayaloune, Ryder Rhembrandt, Hunter Rhembrandt, Coral (Samson) Hourt, and MacKenzie Hourt along with many nieces, nephews, and great grandkids.

Dan is preceded in death by his father Carl Rhembrandt, Mother Sylva (Harold) Haines, mother-in-law Maxine Masek, and father-in-law Robert Vrbka
