Clayton D. Brill 75, son of the late William E. Brill and Dora L. Bettelyoun was born November 10, 1940 in Pine Ridge, SD.
In his early years he lived in Long Valley, SD then moved to Idaho and Nevada where he was employed as a crew member installing power lines. After his return to SD he met Barbara Larabee and they were married July 13, 1963 in Winner, SD. Of this Union they were blessed with two sons.
In order to provide for his family, he began working on road construction in many parts of the state of SD. He assisted building many of the roads that we all still travel today. In 1972 he was offered a position with the Bennett County School District as Custodian and later as Bus Transportation Supervisor. This endeavor provided him the opportunity to become part of many children's and their families lives which he so enjoyed. He remained in this role until his retirement in January 2001. He and Barbara lived in Martin until April 2016 before moving to Rapid City, SD.
Clayton quietly departed life on July 4,2016 at the Regional Hospice House in Rapid City. He is proceeded in death by his Father, William E. Brill, his Mother, Dora L. Brill and two brothers, Chris Brill and Clarence Brill.
Clayton's beautiful life will be cherished and remembered in the lives of his wife, Barbara Brill of Rapid City, SD, their two sons Bradley Brill of Nacogdoches, TX and Scott Brill of Fort Lauderdale, FL. He will also be dearly missed by his three sisters and one brother. Naomi Cummings of Prineville, OR, Cecelia Cummings of Pequot Lakes, MN, Delores Dixon of Prineville, OR and Raymond Brill of Wickenberg, AZ. He will also be missed very much by his extended family members and dear friends that he made throughout his life.
Funeral services will be held at the American Legion Auditorium, Martin, SD, on Saturday July 9, 2016 at 10:00 am, with interment at the Martin Community Cemetery.
