Christine Marie Laverack 45 of Martin South Dakota died Friday, March 10, 2017, at the Bennett County Hospital.
She was born June 7, 1971, in Wessington Springs to Lloyd and Jerri Lutter. As a young girl she lived on a farm in Gann Valley, South Dakota. She soon became Lloyd's right hand girl. She learned to drive a silage truck and combine. Before her parents knew, she was graduating from high school in Wessington Springs. She went to Mount Marty College in Yankton, South Dakota. After graduation from college, she took a music position in Martin, South Dakota. This is where she met Terry. On November 10, 1995, Terry and Christi were united in marriage. This will always be a special day because both sets of parents were married on this date. Ma and Pa Lutter and Laverack were asked to renew their vows on this date.
Terry and Christi made their home in Martin. Terry and Christi were soon blessed with 3 boys, Drake, Dean, and Hunter. Christi worked for the Bennett County School. She worked for the school for 22 years. She started teaching music and went on to teach 1st grade, Kindergarten, and then Transitional Kindergarten. Christi, Terry, and boys enjoyed hunting. Christi spent many hours in a blind with her boys.
Survivors include her husband, Terry; 3 sons, Drake, Dean, and Hunter; her parents Lloyd and Jerri; siblings, Bryan (Hilary) Lutter, Tammy (Jason) Artz, Russ (Hope) Lutter, Dawn Lutter (Joey Compuesto), and Trent (Lynette) Lutter; Grandma Satter, and numerous Aunts, Uncles, nieces, and nephews.
A vigil will be held Thursday, March 16 at Our Lady of the Sacred Heart Church, Martin, SD, at 7:30 pm. Services will be held 10 a.m. Friday, March 17 at the American Legion with Father Dennis Tyler officiating. Burial will be at the Catholic Cemetery south of Martin, SD.
