Yvonne Arline Chulk Masek
Yvonne Arline Chulk Masek of Chadron, Nebraska, passed away peacefully at the Crestview Care Center in Chadron, Nebraska on Sunday January 7, 2018 at the age of 96.
Born on January 6, 1922 in Chadron, Nebraska she was the daughter of Fredrick Henry Chulk, and his WWI French bride Yvonne Josephine Marie Anna Glebert.
Arline was married on August 21, 1940 to Joseph Herbert Masek in Scottsbluff, Nebraska. They were married for 70 years preceding Joe's death on September 12, 2010.
She is survived by her five children Frederic Joseph Masek of Parker, Arizona; Marshall Leroy Masek and wife Rosalind Kay of Dillon, Colorado; Rennee Yvonne See and husband Greg of Eugene, Oregon; Annette Murial McLaughlin and husband Michael of Portland, Oregon; and Bradly Germain Masek and wife Tara of Overland Park, Kansas. Arline is survived by 16 grandchildren, 33 great grand children, and 1 great great grand child.
Memorial services will be conducted at 2:00 PM, January 13, 2018 at the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints located at 936 West 10th Street in Chadron, Nebraska. A graveside service and dedication of the grave will be held at the Greenwood Cemetery following the services.
Arline lived nearly all of her life in Chadron. Being a homemaker she enjoyed camping with her family, reading, and quilting. Arline and Joe helped to establish the LDS Church in Chadron and where she served in various positions for over 60 years. She was active in the VFW Women's Auxiliary following WWII, and the Dawes County Historical Society. She was one of the original founders and enjoyed working at the Chadron Natural Food CO-OP where she was able to meet and visit with many Chadron residents. She enjoyed playing the washboard in a music group that visited area nursing homes.
