Angeline (Harris) Morava passed away December 26, 2016 at Ponderosa Villa in Crawford Nebraska. She was born May 27, 1928 to Frank and Hazel (Hickey) Harris in Box Butte County Nebraska. She was raised on the Harris family ranch in Sioux County and attended elementary school "upstairs" in the Harris home, being the only child in the school district. The teacher lived upstairs in the home as well. She graduated from Sioux County High School in 1945. Following high school she attended Doane College in Crete, Nebraska and she also attended Chadron State College later in life.
She married Ralph Morava on September 17, 1948 in Sterling Colorado, where they had eloped. They were married 59 years.
To this union three children were born, Edward, Lynda and Brady who is deceased.
Angeline was many things but most certainly she was an educator, which is inscribed on her grave marker, and she taught school in the Pink School and District 71 in Sioux County. She was a charter member of the Log Cabin Extension Club and a member for many years and a member of the Methodist Church. Angeline was also passionate about genealogy study passing along several books of family history. She was an excellent baker and especially enjoyed baking specialty items for her grandchildren.
Preceding her in death were her parents, Frank and Hazel Harris, husband, Ralph Morava and seven month old infant son, Brady Clark Morava.
Survivors include her children, Edward Morava of Mitchell, Nebraska, Lynda (Clarence) Rotherham of Scottsbluff, Nebraska and special friend Lil Mansfield. She is also survived by her grandchildren, Scott, Crystal, Amy, Angie, Joey and Jessica, oodles of great grandchildren, two great, great grandchildren and many extended family members and friends.
A memorial has been established to the Harrison or Crawford Rural fire districts and donations may be sent to Chamberlain Chapel in Chadron, Nebraska. Donations may be sent to Chamberlain Chapel, PO Box 970, Chadron, NE 69337.
Services were held on December 30, 2016 at 10:00 AM at Chamberlain Chapel in Crawford with Pastor Matt Parker officiating. Burial was held at the Hemingford Cemetery.
