Alice Turnbull

Alice Lydia Turnbull, 85, of Chadron, Nebraska died Monday, November 17, 2017 at Chadron Community Hospital.

She was born March 29, 1932, in Gordon, Nebraska to Paul and Lydia Eichenberger. She grew up on a farm outside of Gordon with her 6 siblings. March 16, 1952, she married Maurice Turnbull and they were blessed with 4 children. They lived on a ranch south of Gordon and later moved to a farm west of Hay Springs. After the death of husband Maurice she resided in Wheatland Wyoming where she helped raise several grand and great grand children before moving back to Chadron in 2002.

She enjoyed playing cards with her card clubs and friends. She also enjoyed sewing, gardening and tending to her flowers. Alice loved to have a "handyman" job to work on and watching football. She took great pride in her family and those she loved.

Survivors include her son Chuck (Vicki) Turnbull, sisters Clara Reuter (Robert) of Gordon and Dorothy Watson of Oklahoma and many
grandchildren and great grandchildren, nieces and nephews.

She was preceded in death by her parents, sisters Helen Hansen and Theresa Young, brother Albert Eichenberger, husband Maurice, her daughters LaDonna Hallsted (Neil) and Vonna Feddersen, and her son Maurice.

Visitation will be Thursday, November 30, from 1 to 5 p.m. Services will be at 10 a.m. , Friday December 1, 2017 at Chamberlain Chapel in Chadron, Nebraska, with reverend Andy Gudahl officiating. Burial will be at Greenwood Cemetery.

The family suggest memorials to Chadron Community Hospital in care of Chamberlain Chapel, Box 970, 1700 Hwy 20, Chadron, NE 69337.
